Outsourcing it is ordinary contract packaging work — most of what we run is cabinet hardware kitting and fastener bagging for plants across Wisconsin and the upper Midwest.
Labor you can't get back
Hand-counting ties a person to work that adds nothing to the part. Typically $0.20–$0.40 per bag in loaded labor before anything goes wrong.
Miscounts ship
A short count doesn't stop at your dock — it reaches the customer as an incomplete assembly kit. The replacement, the freight, and the phone call all cost more than the bag.
Floor space that isn't yours
Bins, benches, and staging consume square footage you bought for production. Kitting is a process most plants inherited, not one they chose.

Distributor since 2000
We can supply the hardware too.
MGD has been a fastener and MRO distributor since 2000. Most contract packagers can only bag what you send them. Most fastener suppliers can only ship you loose parts in a box. MGD does both — source the components, count them, bag them, code them, and deliver kits to your line on one purchase order.
Keep buying your own hardware if you prefer; the line runs customer-supplied parts either way. One vendor, one PO, one invoice, one point of accountability — and the same custom assortments we already hand-build, now at production scale.
